Good conversation with one of the most humble guitarists in music. Ed O’Brien. My favorite parts were him breaking down what it’s like to create inside a band like Radiohead. Wild to hear how deeply they commit to pure originality and intentionally avoid retreading what’s already been done. 👌
I also loved when he talked about his guitar tone and how he sees sound in images and color. It kind of confirms that when you’re drawn to a particular artist, it’s usually because you share some weird inner common language. 💫
Hearing him talk through the making of OK Computer and how they approached that sound was fascinating. There’s a lot more packed into this convo, but honestly, if you’ve made it this far, you should probably just watch it. It’s a real treat listening to a master talk about process, discipline, and the headspace behind creating.
Also discovered this gem for videotape. What a treasure.
