Great conversation, got me thinking about the many efforts I’ve seen by good people to initiate “pay what you want” (or v4v) models, and the roadblocks such models always seem to face. For me, supporting KR’s awesome content has the double benefit of also supporting the bitcoin circular economy in its nascency. This resonates with the Gneezy amusement park study referenced in the Wikipedia link below (ie pairing with a cause raised average contribution amount significantly) and makes me wonder if KRs other contributors feel similarly; that they’re not just supporting valuable content, but something else as a bonus. It also gets me excited that maybe lightning can bring new efficiencies to a model that has traditionally been hard to sustain. Keep up these great conversations @KR! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pay_what_you_want

Thanks! Super interesting article too, will start sharing sats directly with guests once it is possible to add new guests by their Fountain usernames to the show splits.

There’s a ton of material in that article; I barely took in the main entry never mind the copious citations. The “see also” section took me over to the entry for “co-creation,” which focused heavily on open source software creation. I hadn’t previously considered the link between open source and v4v, and it occurs to me now that your practice of reading listener comments aloud is a form of co-creating content. Nice touch. Really cool to see you (and @k00b) playing around with these alternate models of engagement and value creation. There’s just so much room for playful experimentation.
