It is grossly misleading to hint at a bailout. What the government wants is AI at the National Labs and those computers are already being build on sight. The companies themselves don’t matter. You are comparing a steam powered train to a jet engine.
These aren’t to big to fail because the jobs related are not the same as GE, GM, and Chrysler. The government has already gotten what it needs. Nvidia is completely fine and is loaning out to others but they can stop and the orders will continue to flood in.
I can only guess you don’t understand the AI hierarchy and how it works over all because this…. Is well it’s kinda plain dumb and surface level. Nothing is looked at for the roots or the entire ecosystem.
It’s not misleading at all, especially when you consider the numbers and the events leading up to this. Genesis ensures the state, through the Dept of Energy is a buyer of last resort for any “AI services”, given the likelihood of the scenario where the state intervenes; this is a preemptive bailout through the back door. Whilst Nvidia is financially sound and has a proven business model, openAI is supposed to somehow pay for infrastructure worth $1.6T against $12B worth of revenue in the next 4 years. I believe in miracles as much as the next guy, but I don’t see a realistic scenario where OpenAI doesn’t get a gvt bailout to stay afloat.
