Hard to expect this D with the guys they are missing to hold up for long drives. What’s so frustrating about Purdy’s picks is they need to offense to be the engine of the team.
49ers ran alot in the second half. Panthers couldn’t run down the stretch because they were down two scores. It was kind of an ugly game but a win is a win. Now another ugly coming Sunday in Cleveland. Browns are bad but their D is great and it is supposed to rain and the 49ers have lost the last 6 games they played in Cleveland.
They haven't won in Cleveland since 1984. Haha. Jake Moody blew the last one. Missed an easy game winning FG. I think the 49ers will win but I don't think it will be easy.
That's tough. Seahawks missed last year with 10 wins but that's a 17 game schedule. Someone in the NFC will probably miss with 10 wins this year. That's why it's good the 49ers have pretty much every tiebreaker so far except the head to head against the Bucs but they will probably win the division.
I like that Purdy does not give up, shakes off the rust and back to work. D stepped up for niners (yeah, thanks Jets for getting rid of a decent coach, ugh). Slow walk wins the game, plus Panthers didn't really wanted to win, showed some spark here and there but "You are what your record says you are" so huff said....
It wasn’t a great game but the Niners won and are 8-4. In good shape to make the playoffs. Purdy will be fine. INTs looked bad but third one wasn’t really his fault no one running a clear out route on the CB and guy made an amazing read from across the field. First two weren’t bad decisions just bad throws. I don’t know if the turf toe is limiting him in his ability to plant and get a bit more zip on the ball. He doesn’t have a strong arm by nfl standards so any lost velocity is a big issue. He loves throwing those deep crossers but he might have to put that in the back pocket until the toe is 100% because he has not been able to throw them this season.
