Why is anyone in the world at all ever in any way publishing something as a pdf?

i sometimes wonder the same thing, but then i remember that before the PDF people would send each other microsoft word documents

Oh lord.

I just...html is so good. Or markdown. Just make something that changes to fit my screen please!

Your PDF reader can’t make the document fit your screen?

Sure it fits the screen, but in the most laughable way ever: pdf readers just shrink the whole document page until it fits.

It's especially hard to read pdf on mobile

Ahh, ok

yeh, it makes sense that everything should be web-native. markdown has my support as the default document format. but it's probably not powerful enough for the corporate-types who like to have fancy looking reports

reply

I will convert it all to web native formats.

PDF stands for Portable Document Format. It’s supposed to be the USB for documents.
