The problem is people's reckless usage of antibiotics, often unprescribed. Doctors in private practice also prescribe antibiotics without proper evaluation, simply to get rid of patients. This really has to change. Nobody wants bacteria resistant to last-resort antibiotics like linezolid and meropenem.
