This is a great write up Sig....
Regarding self-driving cars...I don't trust them yet either. A few years ago, when it first came out, I was in a acquaintances Tesla and he demoed the self-driving. We were driving down the interstate, so was pretty calm...however a pickup truck in front of us had an empty Amazon box in the bed, and the wind picked it up and it landed in front of us...
The car went semi-berserk - not really dangerous - but basically slammed on the brakes and tried to take defensive swerve to avoid "the obstacle", luckily the driver intervened and we kept going (and rolled over the empty box)...but it made me realize, there are sooo many variables we just do instinctively (like realizing its ok to hit an empty box) that self-driving cars can't do yet.
I'm sure the tech will get there eventually, but I'm not wanting to be a beta tester for it at the moment.
I agree
