I live in a forested area and there's a wooded place I sometimes like to walk. It's White-tailed deer's natural habitat, and it's a daily occurrence to see them here. Today I was walking and I came across a white tail doe and a fawn eating fallen berries from a bush. The doe had it's back to me and seemed startled while the fawn calmly stared at me. In a moment of tranquility, I paused and bowed to the deer, and the fawn bowed back. It made me smile.
Did you know that deer bow back? It's not just a one time oddity, I've seen this several times before when I walk here. If you present yourself in a non-threatening way and bow to a deer, they often bow back. I recommend trying it if you get a chance.
Yes. Last week

I see deer all the time but haven’t tried bowing. I’ll try it next time!

I saw a deer in my backyard the other day while walking one of my cats. I also live in a forested area. I will definitely try bowing next time!

I trust my orange tabby and let him out freely. I just keep an eye on him and call his name and he comes back.
My other cat is a tortoiseshell, and has a ton of energy. She will sprint into the woods if I let her. So, I take her out on a leash from time to time to give her a chance to explore, but I don't exactly trust her lol
