Not surprising given the run up in value and how most teams now require a group of billionaires to purchase a team. It isnt like a single owner is really a thing anymore unless it is a team that has been passed down.
It’s also fun.
If you owned a team would you be able to stay out of the GM and coaches offices? I wouldn’t. My team would probably suck.

Definitely. I put 4 guys on the trade block after week 1 in my nba fantasy league. I am sure the GM would love me.

Lolllllll I could see myself going to the GM after someone doesn't hustle out of the box and being like send him down, trade him, cut him I dont care just get rid of him.

Bill Simmons started talking about this a few years ago.
Major franchises are great for social status because they’re so scarce and they’re publicly ranked vs the others.
