Honestly, I think we are heading toward a world where we say “sats” but write “₿” — and I’m not sure how I feel about it.
“5000 sats” looks clunky, and that’s probably why Square terminals and a bunch of wallets are already using the BIP-177 idea where ₿ actually represents a sat. It’s cleaner, more “currency-like,” and way easier on a payment screen.
But it also rewrites what ₿ has meant for years.
Still, the momentum is there: people talk in sats, wallets display ₿, and BTC becomes just the ticker for whole coins.
Not saying I love it… but it feels like that’s where UX is pushing the ecosystem.
