That's fair criticism. By taking advantage and benefitting from the system, one only perpetuates it. Opting out, to the extent that one can, may be a superior choice. But not everyone can easily opt out. So second to that, I think it is still better to understand and take advantage of the system than to not understand it and simply complain about it. Worst is understanding the system, taking advantage of it, and actually thinking the system is good.
