Their strategy is to flood global markets with goods so cheap that no one else can compete, then they have control over supply chains. An enormous amount of leverage. War with them is not really possible beyond short skirmish, because they make the screws (and manufactured advanced technology) that holds everything together. Not to mention rare earth metals, medical supplies and drugs, and countless other items. Which was the idea, once upon a time -- peace through trade. Lift everyone up out of poverty with global free markets. Now, with China's support of Russia's war, we see starkly the peril that we've put ourselves in, and are rushing to rectify the imbalance. It can only be rushed so much though, and we have a profound lack of technical expertise in the manufacturing sector.
