The deeper issue is that bitcoiners should be doing their own research on bitcoin. Not following influencers. I don't really need to know Luke's personal beliefs to know I disagree with many of his proposals. But, I guess it is helpful for some do dig deeper. It just starts to feel gross when this stuff becomes person.
