Sweden’s Skanska has won a project management contract for a $312m, 420-bed women’s prison in Chesterfield Township, New Jersey.

Skanska Integrated Solutions (SIS) is providing owner’s representative services to assist in the design, planning and construction of the facility, which will replace the existing Mahan Correctional Facility for Women.

The company’s scope of work includes schedule management, logistical operations and construction oversight.

The prison will be located on a 33-acre site, with inmates able to move between programs across multiple buildings offering education, vocational training, addiction treatment and medical care.
