thanks for this optimism, knew it was somewhere around this, 72hr seems like a normal pleblab founder shift though, actually might be less
Would working at Wendy's for 72h/week give you the same satisfaction?
not at all
I think that's where the differentiator is sitting at. As an entrepreneur I used work any time that I wasn't sleeping. Maybe after 3-4 days of spending 18-20h then I'd take a morning to chill and read something, or sleep in for 2h longer. Keep going and going and going. I'm still doing that often even though there's no financial gain as an unpaid FOSS dev and it more often hurts, lol.
Bottom line, you cannot compare your own business, where you make the difference, to that where you get a wage or salary, to make your boss rich. Especially in China where wages are abysmally low compared to the US or even Germany.
Didn't have a chance to watch live last night, but here you go:

996Work from 9 to 9, 6 days a week. (versus 9 to 5, 5 days a week) You were correct that it's a 72 hour workweek: 6 * 12h = 72h.

Technically, yes, they are somewhat competing with their own invention with something that feels rather more powerful, because you just (let Claude) develop the tools it needs locally (and bespoke) rather than installing or connecting to someone's paywalled spyware) and you can still share your repo. This could be good for sovereign AI too, assuming that some day the community can port this concept to non-proprietary models.
