I am pretty surprised that China was willing to do the rare earths, soybeans, and some of the advanced semi conductors. It goes to show that China was not able to come close to replacing the US as a huge export market and that the rumored cracks in the Chinese economy where true. Add in that China was willing to accept advanced but not top of the line chips is remarkable and also shows that there semi conductor industry still has significant hurdles and no domestically produced top of the line chip is possible.

Hahaha! Yeah! China gave in on rare earths, soybeans, and mid-level chips. It shows they need US buyers and their economy is weak. They can’t make top chips yet.

Honestly from reading the stuff coming out of China over AI the way that they have gotten around it has been more or less linking together more and more chips so it is more powerful but this is reaching its limit.
US also busted a number of ways they were trying to illegally import chips via 3rd partys
