Thanks for sharing your experience in detail! I've been playing around with different forms of zapvertising as well, including zapadd, aqstr and buzzbot (+ making my own campaigns such as treasure hunts, contest & games) but aside from growing a followers' list and social media presence the real results (sales) have been nonexistent, unfortunately. But perhaps that's because my business, like yours, is rather new and doesn't have proper reviews, ratings, tutorials out there yet. And my ad campaigns have always been quite low budget thus far. Anyway, I also like the principle of zapvertising - paying users directly for their attention.
PS. I also tried to contact you both via the Contact and Support pages of your site with a collaboration proposal, but it didn't look like my messages went through. Sending you a DM on nostr now :)
Thanks, I’ll look into aqstr and buzzbot. You're the second person to mention aqstr @RayBuni brought it up, too.
Sorry to hear the results haven’t been there yet. But I totally get it. It’s not easy when you’re starting out. No network, no reviews, no trust built.
I see you’ve leaned into centralized social with Satoshee. I’m trying to avoid that for now, even if it’s slower. Feels harder, but at least I don't have to deal with walled garden rules.
Also, I’m not shipping from the US or Western Europe, so costs are higher than most expect. Not sure how much that affects conversion, but we’ll see.
I almost mentioned “no middleman” in my post, but I wasn’t sure... Is the fee just zap costs, or is there a commission on top?
PS: I didn’t realize Turnstile was blocking my forms, as they don't offer any way to pass the challenge. I’ve removed it for now. Let’s see how bad the spam gets, then I’ll figure out a fix. I'll check my DM on Nostr.

Ray is the guy who made both zapadd and aqstr :)
I wouldn't say I've "leaned into" centralized media that much, nostr was and is the main social channel from the get-go, it's more about trying to be present in most channels where potential customers may lurk.
IDK exactly about what the fee covers but I would assume Ray and/or team takes some cut as well. I don't think either of those ventures have other revenue streams.
BTW I used hCaptcha myself before going with Turnstile. It worked fine. No captcha meant a lot of spam. But I had to go w/ Turnstile because someone figured out a way to cheat the loyalty system early on, so had to protect Woocommerce against bots and fraud.
