The big day is here! The package we were waiting for arrived from China!

Here it is fully assembled and ready for action:

There is only one thing missing. The cat. He is clearly shunning our new project.

Perhaps I should start a predyx market as to when, if ever, the futuristic orb gets any use?

How's the cat gonna know that's where he's gotta do his business? You gotta leave a 💩 in there for a few days while the machine is off! ~lol

reply

A few things:

  1. We have "seeded" the box. I don't know whether that was advisable, since he prefers a clean, virgin field.
  2. The contraption is silent until after the deed is done.

This is my friend's cat! ahahah

reply

I have toyed with this idea, but I was vetoed.

reply

And you got vetoed for a reason, right? Probably by someone super chill and balanced. Maybe a tiny, cat-sized toilet would be reasonable though! ahahah

reply

What trauma must that cat have gone through to get to that point hahahahaha

reply

I don't know if that was some trauma, but I do know he's gotta be pretty smart and observant!

reply

Let us know how it goes.

reply

I will. I will refrain from posting photographic proof of success, though.

reply

Hahaha

Not to be a wet blanket on your new kitty toilet party, but a while back a friend of mine showed me some reviews of similar contraptions that caused their cat to get stuck and .... ☹️

I'm sure you guys did your research, but I'm sharing so others beware of this. Sorry, I know it is not a nice thought. I wish I had never had to think about that either.

reply

Scary thought. I think it's time I did my own research.

reply

I know. It isn't something that would have ever occurred to me otherwise. God forbid it.

reply

Thanks for the heads up.

We had one of these for our cat (different model with dehydrating crystal litter). It turned a daily chore into a monthly one. Though tbf Dona must've preferred the natural habitat of a neighbor's yard.

Yes, the advantages of an outdoor cat.

Considering one of these so consider me subscribed to this journey of yours.

Did you do research on different models? Whether some are accepted more by cats?

reply

My wife did. I'll keep everyone updated.

reply

Finally. Good, honest shitposting on Stacker News.
