I zapped more than 2 sats as well. I think the "Keeeeyan, what's this?" dynamic is pretty fun.
However, I also like Darth's idea of roping in a little more of the SN culture. I think this is why we get Car's picks and top meta, but maybe there is a way to include note quirky stuff that doesn't necessarily show up in top lists.

You cannot know all what is happening on SN during a week just because you read the top 5 posts... much more is going on inside.
Yeah, it would be fun for someone who spends a ton of time on SN to have an "also there was this long insane argument in one of the posts" segment.

I zapped more than 2 sats, because I disagree with some of it.
Mostly, I don't like the idea of turning the SNZ into an SNL script. I think they're properly separate things. They could be more integrated with each other, though, like having @plebpoet talk about the theme of that week's SNZ more and maybe mentioning the top SNL clip in the SNZ.
I agree with you that it's best when k00b is describing the facts of the posts topics. He has a real knack for neutral descriptive analysis.
