I thought so too when it happened. Now it's been over a year, and Russia hasn't retaliated militarily against the US. Instead, they have steadily been involved in strengthening fiscal ties with BRIC nations in order to build an alternative structure to combat USD hegemony. They seem to even be making progress with Saudi Arabia. I think they have to be more concerned now with the actual military threat to their homeland.
Meh, I don't see that happening tbh.
The USD despite all its problems, is globally accepted and will likely remain so because it is the standard. Russia is not an economic powerhouse anymore nor any of those countries really trust eachother.
