Howdy Parents,
Sorry for not sharing the a lot about parenting but been so busy, I couldn't. But today something very special or perhaps exceptional to our traditions has just happened. It's my daughter's birthday and We've had a Cake for the first time ever on a Birthday.
It might be very surprising to most of you that how come this happened when Cake is just a norm on birthdays? Actually ours is a family that traditionally is inclined to not celebrating the birthdays in ways as in the west for reasons only our elders know.
However, a pooja (prayer), Kheer poodis (food) have always been there. The birthday boy or girl gets an Aarti (a flame cleansing) with a 'tika' (vermillion) on the forehead from the eldest lady in the house.
Sweets prepared with milk at home are a norm and my mother and wife did prepare a lot for my daughter's birthday. But to everyone's surprise it was my father who brought in the cake and told everyone to sing 'Happy Birthday' for his granddaughter.
As is our culture, None has courage to ask to the head of the family how he's changed man all of a sudden. But I know AN INTEREST IS DEARER THAN THE PRINCIPAL.
I was 50-50 between ~culture and ~relationships for posting this. I think I largely talked about culture than relationship, so it's here.
(10 Sats, Thanks!)
