So, this adds to the spam debate that is going on. Please help with understanding what the implications of this proposal is. What are the pros and cons - and especially, what does the interplay between this proposal and other technical changes on the bitcoin roadmap look like?
"The nature of Bitcoin requires users to run fully validating nodes, necessarily involving downloading, storing, and transmitting every transaction, even if they are fake/spam "transactions"."
"downloading, storing and transmittting every transaction" - this is untrue.
"downloading and validating" - this would be true.
utreexod is an example of a fully validating node that downloads and validates but does not cache (store) and need not retransmit every transaction.

"Due to Bitcoin Core v30 gaining in popularity, it has become necessary to move forward on @luke-jr's ML proposal to temporarily limit arbitrary data at the consensus level, which so far has 3 weeks with no objections."
"no objections" that's just a lie if you read the ML thread.
damn moderators of the core github are such precious "we must treat all people with respect no matter how deranged" total frickin pussies 🤭😅

"temporary" lol
social attack trying to scare noderunners with threat of accidentally hostng child porn to achieve... actually it is unclear what the objective here even is.
I guess it is for bitcoin to bend the knee, kiss the ring. But bend the knee to who? Kiss whose ring!? They don't even know.
And also to punish core developers for perceived haughty and elitist attitudes.
anyway the proposal has no merit and core shows itself weak by engaging in this kabuki dance instead of just giving a clear unambiguous no.
some free advice for core, just 2 easy rules. don't negotiate with retards. don't negotiate with terrorists.
and when you put the 2 rules together: don't negotiate with retarded terrorists.
