There's no doubt that Starlink is a masterpiece of modern engineering. The first time I heard about it, it seemed so futuristic and incredible.
These days, while I'm on a road trip, I realized how incredibly useful and necessary this project is.
A network of satellites providing internet access no matter where you are in the world πΊοΈ (obviously even my neighbor's dog knows and understands this π)
But like many things in life, no matter how much information you have at hand, or how many other people's examples you've seen, until you experience it yourself, you don't have the exact perspective.
Telephone companies are crap, at least here in South America. As soon as you leave a city, a town, or hit the highway, goodbye to cell phone signal π± πΆ and obviously goodbye to internet access. Something that is very unfavorable these days.
And it's not that companies don't have the capacity to expand their reach; it's that it's all part of the same rotten system we live in. Obviously, they don't want you free and without borders traveling the world; they want you docile and within a specific mileage range.
But it doesn't matter. As long as I can't afford Starlink, I'll still be a rebel. I'll stay away from cities, use cash, take advantage of the signal when it's available, and study maps to understand the routes to follow. If I don't have access to the map app, I'll be able to navigate where I'm going on my trip.
Fuck the phone companies that are complicit in the oppressive system.
Long live Bitcoin and long live the free man.
Thanks for reading. π€π€
If you'd like to donate something so I can have my Starlink in the not-too-distant future, you're welcome to throw in a couple of SATS. Every little bit helps, is appreciated, and brings us closer to our goal π― Thanks π€π€
