not gonna lie, this is a Universe given saying that has recently come through to me in recent days.
but realizing this, it has been with me the past six months. over time, i've become more and more quiet with sharing the happenings in my life because i would prefer that my own achievements be shown, and not told. it annoys the shit out of the people i know, but i am slowly coming to terms with my life being my own.
so, if you're in a rut, or you feel like your life is spiraling and you want to give up, or you need a pick me up to get real with shit, this post is absolutely, for you.
  1. let them.
this is a famous saying by the incredible mel robbins. in short, it means, let everyone say whatever it is they want to say, and let everyone do whatever it is they want to do, and go about however they choose to live their lives.
at the end of the day, you cannot control people ever, and the only reason they will change is if they want to.
so guess what? this is where you get to actually give a shit about yourself for once.
who cares if they talk down on you?
who cares if they don't want to see things the way you do?
who cares if your goals and aspirations don't live up to everyone else's expectations.
you make your reality, regardless of what anyone says or thinks.
  1. silence is your best friend.
stop. the. fucking. over. sharing.
stop. the. fucking. talking.
stop. the. gloating. and. bragging.
because let me tell you, once you run your mouth about whatever it is you're doing, people want to see you fail, and those said goals and things become expectations. now there's pressure, and no longer enjoyment of the process. those who want to see you fail enjoy it when you don't make it because deep down they don't go out of their way to even try to get those things or achievements themselves. it's a projection, and you don't need that energy while you're progressing to come your way.
so, if you're trying to build a business, buying a house, developing a skill, traveling the world for the first time, trying something daring and challenging that is out of the box, etc.
just shut your damn mouth. that way you can brag all about how awesome it was later.
  1. your present state of mind is all that matters.
i have said this countless times.
the past and the future do not exist. those versions of you don't exist, so why are you hanging onto them? you can only take true responsibility for your life if you focus on what is going on now.
in my own instances, i can only see so far ahead for what i have today. i gave myself grace in book writing, took sometime to care for myself by hitting the gym, and will jump on the productive train sometime in the later hours of the night because my brain works best that way.
small things add up, and be it if its 1 word i do today, or 1,000, it's still a progression toward something great.
in short, being intentional with your life and how you decide to go about it is always a good thing. taking responsibility privately is a very kind, calm, and collected way of saying, fuck you to everyone.
thus, make life like a movie when things become weird, difficult, or overbearingly annoying. you can only know how it turns out when you watch, and not talk.

I agree with (1). (2) is pessimistic as hell but I know parts of it are true. I feel like (3) is more complicated than it sounds because the present affects the future and the past affected now. I can't change the past so I don't concern myself with it, but I do act in the present anticipating its effects on the future, not unlike you state here:
