Today I had the opportunity to try to onboard someone to Bitcoin and ran into an unexpected issue.
They where nice enough to give me 2 minutes to give them the "elevator pitch" (#548942) about what Bitcoin is.
At the end of 2 minutes I ask them if I can give them some Bitcoin real quick before they left and they said sure. I told them to open up web browser and go to CoinOS.io.
They got to the splash screen and I told them to click on "Start in Seconds". When they clicked on it they got an error message that read something like (don't remember exact message) "Safari can not open this page please connect to the Wifi.
At this point they ran out of time and needed to go. I have their contact details and I will circle back with them when they have more time.

Question for SN and IPhone/Safari users:

Does Apple restrict some feature that CoinOS was trying to use?
Iphone especially safari is full of issues.

Not for me, was able to create my coin.os just fine with Safari, I have it as PWA(Progressive Web App) on my home screen (iPhone 16e iOS 26)
Either way, sucks that it wasn’t as seamless to onboard them. I’ve also never thought to onboard people that way, normally I’ll mention CashApp and the person will have to KYC and give up 😭

Never had a problem with coinos on iPhone but I created the account on my laptop so don’t know about account creation.

I don't use apple, but I've occasionally had trouble with coinos loading when my WiFi/data wasn't great.
