This is a bug we're very much aware of. Even though we did see this in past versions too, iOS 26 has a much higher frequency of this happening. Safari 26 has a wide range of bugs that goes from your specific bug to buttons with js onClick not responding at all until restart.

edit: Apple has fixed the gap at the bottom on iOS 26.1
Fixed a bottom gap appearing on layouts with viewport-sized fixed containers on iOS. (158055568)
Can confirm it is fixed.
