Pure psychological horror. An ending as perfect as it is disturbing. Kubrick[1] said it was brilliant, and he wasn't exaggerating: few films leave such a long silence after the credits.
My previous reviews: Interview with the Vampire (1994) Fright Night (1985) The Nightmare (2015) The Poughkeepsie Tapes (2007) Lake Mungo (2008) Final Destination 2 (2003) The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005) Cannibal Holocaust (1980) The Blair Witch Project (1999)
Stanley Kubrick called it “one of the most terrifying films he had ever seen.” ↩
Flexing the horror movie muscles, @guerratotal! Very impressive!
I love scary movies... I think it's the trauma from my brother, hahahahaha
He's 11 years older than me, and I used to watch them with him. Imagine me being a kid and him watching those films. But I've been fascinated by them ever since.
