Nah, email can be duplicated. Bitcoin can't.
Running your own node is closer to running your own email server.

Or having your own domain. If I "own" my domain the provider running a server can't censor me.
Its not a good analogy. Holding your keys is freaking easy.

I ran mail servers for a few years. It's not easy. It requires a lot of work. Sounds like this guy hasn't.
