Yes, do that for your L1 sats for sure but with LN, not so much is at stake.
The convenience and very low fees of Coinos are hard to beat.

it is true, however i have 3 small balanced private channels on my albyhub lightnode, fees are basically zero for sends, and i can receive no problem. So, with a little work up front there is no need to give up my keys.

Can fully understand as a hobbyist you wanting to operate everything to that degree of self custody purity but really the cost benefit ratio is debatable. For most people coinos will be more cost effective. I have seen some fee/cost structures where the entire average float of sats I hold on LN would be guaranteed consumed with a few years. I support coinos as it is a unique wallet enabling anyone easy, low cost access to LN MoE. By pooling sats on coinos very good liquidity and cost benefit is achieved.
