Yes, it doesn't seem like a good idea. Although I guess my maim concern would be that emoji encodings might change.
What do you find problematic about it?
Copying a word to paper is 1 to 1, whereas transcribing a picture to a word leaves holes IMO.
It's not entirely bad, but I very cautious about this.
