I think this film is really overrated, but Nicholson's talented acting makes it entertaining.
There's a sequel called "Doctor Sleep" that's basically the same style as a superhero movie.
It certainly is memorable. I mostly felt like I didn't get it when I watched shining. And yet for a movie I watched once, many years ago, I seem to still be able to remember quite a bit.
