This is true. However the ultimate outcomes depend upon the quality and integrity of the government in charge. If, as in the case of most western liberal democracies, the government has become beholden to wealthy corporate sponsors then yes you have a major problem.
If in contrast a government is sufficiently motivated to ensure fiat capital issuance is directed toward genuinely wealth creating investments then fiat can work to improve the wealth and prosperity of citizens.
Libertarians frequently overlook the fact that governments are always significant factors in the wealth and prosperity of nations. There has never been enduring wealth and prosperity without the security and rule of law that only government can provide.

You cannot name any example of where there has been enduring wealth and prosperity without the security and rule of law that only government can provide.
In all of human history it has never existed - except in the deluded daydreams of Libertarian anarchists.

Security doesn't come from government, it comes from self-defense.
Law doesn't come from government, it comes from Almighty God.
All examples of "enduring wealth and prosperity" in human history occurred IN SPITE of government, not because of it.
reply
God is dead and black is white but you cannot name a single example of sustained wealth and prosperity that was not enabled by government!
YOU CANNOT! because your ideology is deeply and fundamentally flawed.
Your meme is equally flawed.
What is required and and has always been inherent in the nature of government is that people/citizens remain constantly vigilant to ensure it does not become captured by vested interests like corporate sponsors. Keep your government in check!
That does not mean you can have prosperity without any government but that you must fight fight fight for good honest government.
Libertarian ideology is a just a cynical cop out to justify avoiding your civic duties...and enables and allows more corrupt government because of it.

I gave you an example: TODAY. Any wealth and prosperity TODAY is due to the small freedoms the market has found to be FREE of government. Government creates nothing, it can only do harm. People succeed in SPITE of it.
Also God the Father and His son Jesus Christ are very much alive.
You are an idol worshiper with the State as your god. You pray and do penance, give thanks and praise. You are a religious zealot and have accepted being a slave to other men.
How about you tell me how the government contributes or enables the wealth and prosperity TODAY?
reply
Wrong. You cannot give any examples of where wealth and prosperity exist independent of the security and rule of law that government provides.
Government creates the basis upon which free enterprise can have the confidence to invest and create. Without government and rule of law free enterprise is limited to crude and limited investment because it lacks the security of rule of law and the ability to enforce contracts consistently.
I am a realist and certainly do not see government as an ultimate authority but rather as an essential part of the human organisational structures required to maximise wealth and security.
Your blind and blinkered faith in 'free markets' ignores their need for a secure environment of law and security upon which to thrive. Without the complex and difficult problem of government solved and provided 'free markets' incapable of functioning well. You Libertarians put the cart before the horse.
But hey, look out of any window and show me a single example of a wealthy and sustained economy where there was or is no government underpinning it and prove me wrong...
What do you want me to do for you? This (Libertarian ideology) is all a dream.
