Per @a853296a49's excellent question about CLINK Offers privacy vs. that of Bolt12, I took a few minutes this morning to rough-in support for blinded paths in our reference server and wallet.
You can see here that the CLINK static offer code is fetching invoices over nostr, not dodgy onion messages, that leverage these blinded paths.
The Bolt12 astroturf crowd has long lied about its privacy advantages as blinded paths exist outside of it's context. For more diatrabe as to why Bolt12 is garbage, see #1245819
If you've been waiting for LND to finish implementing Bolt12 to use this privacy feature with static offers, you're now way ahead of the game as CLINK Offers are a far more flexible, performant, reliable, and web-friendly alternative.
The UI for it is up on the PWA version of shockwallet, we'll clean it up and get it merged for mobile apps in the next few days.
nah... people only want Spark and Liquid crap because is trendy and why not, will be future KYCed. People love to be KYCed. and fucked, rugpulled. Even SN wants to implement Spark crap. Imagine that! Why do you want to disrupt that status quo?

it has more to do with reducing friction when building a product we do this irl as well Darth
if Justin can build out a solution like this, while still maintaining the non custodial aspects of it that would move the needle incredibly, the rest would be just interface cosmetics

aka "let's use Spark" because is "nodeless" crap and make it easy for clueless noobs.. "cosmetics" means hiding the traps.

Screens have been getting refreshed lately, and onboarding is getting a re-think: #1243790, but if there's anything specific we should prioritize let me know
Updated screeners on the landing page actually just yesterday https://shockwallet.app

I know brother, we need to do a jam session together soon.
Everyone is working with very little, and the big companies have far more resources and money to burn.
It’s up to us Plebs to help each other build each other up.
No one is going to save us including the people in our own ecosystem.

I could do more detailed list, but honestly there are many UX and consistency issues that it would actually take me quite a bit of time to list all.
The main issue on android (from Play Store) is that when people use the option on the right, then the send / receive buttons are not clickable
Have you thought about getting UX designer to help here? Some general tips can be found here https://bitcoin.design/guide/daily-spending-wallet/ (I'm not talking about colors or style, but about the navigation, interactions, consistency, sizing and formatting)

Ah yea those are more bugs than design, game of whackamole... Fix status bar and break nav... Fix android break iPhone... Almost feature stable so releases will start getting more bug fixes less regression
In fairness, Lightning tools generally suck today, it's up to us to show there's a better way with less lazy trade-offs.
Even SN wants to implement Spark crap
I think it's more a need than a want. They may be overly paranoid compared to us and getting bad legal advice, but they're not alone in that either. Lots of businesses like to pay lawyers to tell them not to do things, so we need actual solutions for those businesses.
I think once our automation in the bootstrap mode of shockwallet is ready they'll be able to use that instead of a fake L2 to give users a better experience.
The first time someone goes to zap 10 sats and incurs a 300 sat swap fee from spark/liquid that'll be the end of that experiment.

The key to CLINK is needing an always on Linux host server right?
reply
CLINK itself is agnostic, but yea there's no asynchronicity in Lightning
Lightning.Pub can run on any OS, our install script is Linux specific... Mac and Windows would need a manual install (can use WLS with the script though on Windows)
@DarthCoin ran the install script on an android tablet with a terminal emulator I believe.
