Right after I finished this up and was about to hit publish new instructions were issued from our Operations Director. Essentially we are not allowed to talk, post, etc. on social media about anything in relation to the government shutdown as it is now a fire able offense. Since I journal anyways I will continue to write posts and just save them until the shutdown is over and then publish the adventure that was the shutdown. I apologize for this I planned on taking yall along on this adventure but I dont want to give anyone a reason to fire me.
In the meantime feel free to ask questions here and I will do my best to answer them or point you in the correct direction.
:(
I'll be looking forward to reading your journal of events whenever you are able to post them.

Hopefully they didn't prohibit prediction market trading on what you're hearing.

lol so ironically enough they have not but I also don’t wanna screw over anyone. Granted Predyx hasn’t paid out the shutdown yet….

I made one for shutdown duration. Whether you think it's fair is certainly up to you, but as far as I'm concerned trading on whatever information you have is the point of prediction markets.
What makes them different from ordinary gambling is that they are also an information product.

Oh yeah full transparency I did bet on that one for over a week just cause the House was/is out of session till next week lol

Fine by me. Make sure to read the fine print, though.
"More than one week" specifically means 8-14 days.
It wasn't the kind of market where multiple outcomes can resolve "Yes", so I had to make the options mutually exclusive after it was posted.

How does anyone take this seriously. This has happened for my entire life now. Government shutdowns are planned. They could be entirely avoided if they passed a full budget to fund the government for the entire year. It seems very obvious they are simply publicity stunts centered around elections and getting or keeping politicians in the news.
Its one of the MANY reasons why I have no faith in this system. Its a complete clown show.
How do you go to work everyday? Isn't it discouraging? I'm not trying to be mean. You opened it for questions.
reply
I mean do you mean planned as in the budget starts Oct 1 every year? Otherwise shutdowns aren’t as common as you think there have been 2 in the last 12 years and only one was a fully government that lasted 16 days.
Do they take it to the edge? Yep but someone tends to fold that didn’t happen and now a bunch of people either A could be fired or B not get back pay

Just post as @anon or use the @delete bot. I doubt the feds are monitoring stacker.news (yet)
