When I first saw the headline, my mind went to a Wag the Dog war scenario, but given the timeline and the way everyone's kept in the dark, I may be giving Hegseth too much credit. This just strikes me as a non-military leadership guy running things poorly, and the most likely thing is a restructuring or force reduction (neither of which is a small story, of course).

Hegseth is like a weatherman, his job is to be in front of the camera to present information pre-prepared by others, something like this he's just a player in.

You realize that the standard way the military has been run has been run poorly, right? If this is a restructuring, it is long, long over due.
