lol my gf got addicted to vanilla flavored milk
did you know that vanilla is mildly addictive due to its curious relaxation effect, and it's a pastry chef secret to excellent pastries? Iginio Massari, a famous pastry chef here, said: "vanilla is the most potent natural flavor we know, every gram can enhance 10kgs"
I tried this one time with pancakes. Best pancakes I've ever had.

Another reason I don't like Ezra Klein. Was watching this video:
Ross asks Ezra why the left has become so pessimistic. Ezra says it's because Barack Obama getting elected (black man from Chicago) represented the peak of the liberal project, and he passed a big healthcare bill. Yet, even after electing a black man and passing a healthcare reform, things didn't change for the better.
Ezra, maybe you should take this as evidence that the left's ideas were wrong from the beginning. Whatever you understood about racism in America, whatever you understood about healthcare, were wrong.
So instead of getting pessimistic, why don't you just change your views you big dunce.

Might get a lot of heat for this but I had to try this 2Fiat service and I gotta say I’m impressed!
If you live on little to no fiat you can easily top this prepaid card up and boom make your purchase. Plus they use BTC pay server to process LN payments.
The fees are still terrible but that is the price you pay to buy the things in this fiat world.
Let’s see how this goes

Reported minimum relay fees

No FEEFILTER sent2,135 (7.6%)2,331 (8.2%)

9170997184 (0.3%)73 (0.3%)
.001 sat/vB81 (0.3%)91 (0.3%)
I'm surprised that so much of the network (~87%) is still at 1 sat/vB, especially considering that we are seeing almost 40% of all transactions having a sub-1 sat/vB feerate.
I suppose the nofeefilter set nodes may also be relaying transactions, although I suspect they would be using the default of whatever client they are running. Core 29 I think is the only version that has a lower default than 1 sat/vB.

4% of nodes having a more permissive policy leads to sub-1 sat/vB transactions being 40% of all transactions.

Footnotes

  1. @0xB10C thinks these nodes were doing IBD or were not caught up to the chain tip in some way.
A week or so ago there was a post about terms guys use to refer to each other. I mentioned how much I hate being called chief. This morning movers came to take some furniture of my mother in law's from our house to other family members. The main guy immediately addressed me as chief.
No tip today. I won't even offer bitcoin.

What if he called you pal? Would fisticuffs ensue?
reply
I'm way too old. A crazy thing happened last night, speaking of fisticuffs. I was at a classic rock (early 70s) concert with my peers. I would say everyone in the place was older than 60. My wife and I were enjoying the show when suddenly two old geezers next to me started throwing punches. These guys were OLD. Chairs went flying, they were yelling loudly, throwing fists and f bombs. It was bizarre and very loud. The band stopped playing for a moment, then soldiered on. Security broke it up, but the instigator got loose and escaped the venue before the police arrived. It was entertaining.

That sounds like a fun night. Hope your wife enjoyed it as much as you seemed to haha
reply
It was disconcerting (no pun intended) at first. We didn't see the humor until later.
reply
😂 Maybe it wasn’t just a way of refer to people, because in this case you really were the chief, at least if it means the same as in Portuguese (boss?).
reply
Oh no. Nobody calls the real chief "chief" around here.
reply
Here we only call the boss 'chief' if we’re really tight with him.

Yesterday my financial advisor proposed me to sell ibit and buy eth etf. I told him to not do that because philosophically Im bitcoin only. If financial advisors learn more about bitcoin and less about rapid money, more people would invest in bitcoin etfs.
reply
But if they learn more about bitcoin, they won't sell etfs.

I mean... they probably will. If you have a lot of money tied up in tax advantaged accounts on a financial level in the short run it makes sense. But if you think the state could take that money or whatever... you probably should sell all your stocks and go all in on bitcoin.
I just don't see financial guys doing any of that. They are too bought into tradfi. Even if they do get bitcoin.
reply
Yes. Probably
reply
By today it is almost the only way for companies to invest in bitcoin.
reply
Where are you getting that?
That's not true. Its an easy way but companies can buy bitcoin and hold it. Nothing has ever prevented that legally in the US. So accounting rules have changed that make it easier and the ETFs make it so that they don't have to learn how to do it. But they have been able to buy bitcoin for a while now. There are whole companies that have helped them learn to do so. Saylor even had a training course for companies to do it.
Even small businesses don't need to buy the ETFs. A small business that doesn't have any money in markets for example would have to go through the same process to open up a brokerage account that they would to open up a Strike account. It might be easier to do it with Strike. They buy bitcoin on Strike and can send it to self custody. They just need to do the accounting and track it all.
Writing this more for the others that might see this. If you have a small business you can legally buy bitcoin and hold it. You do not have to by paper bitcoin. That is false and its not easier either.
