Bitcoin Crowdfunding platforms like Geyser.Fund are growing, but can projects raise any meaningful amounts. Do people chip in for crowdfunding raises with bitcoin?
Would love to hear experiences and opinions, have you raised money with bitcoin, have you supported projects with bitcoin?

I supported the https://therage.co because no one else was reporting on all the financial privacy stuff much.

Hey @hyperfree!, Bitcoin crowdfunding does work — the projects on Geyser’s Hall of Fame speak for themselves. Many have raised meaningful amounts, from grassroots community initiatives to global Bitcoin adoption projects to products such as books, board games, videogames!
That said, how you approach it matters a lot. Some projects don’t reach their goals, and the difference often comes down to:
  • having a clear, valuable idea,
  • showing proof of work (showing that you have worked on the idea already and not just waiting for money to come in)
  • building trust (reputation is super critical, as your community can vouch for you)
  • persisting and engaging with your community along the way.
We’re also working on All-or-Nothing crowdfunding, which will make the process of learning and failing/succeeding quicker.
Happy to chat more and hear what you have in mind — always curious to learn what kind of projects people are thinking about! :)
