Is it just a new address with BTC & no history?

You can check easily on any blockchain explorer. This is an example of a channel close.

@2bithits click on the Yellow Tag "Channel close: counterweight <> 02516136267e3b4266ff" and you will see "Lightning channel" at the top of the page
