He at least has an opportunity to win the job in Cleveland.
Definitely. I do wonder who will be their starter by the end of the season
It may very well be Shedeur
I'll be surprised if he gets zero starts
There is a good chance Gabriel is QB2 because he is a better QB2 to Flacco but that doesn’t mean he is a better QB1.
Like with the 49ers last year. Allen was 2 and Dobbs was 3 but it was understood if Purdy was out mid game or for one game it would be Allen but if he was out for multiple games it would be Dobbs.
Might be a similar situation.
I think he'll get a start too
Me too. I think he will get his shot. Gabriel is pretty good I think, at least having watched him last season. Wonder how he will perform in the league
They'll probably give them both a look
He has a better chance to start during his rookie deal in Cleveland than in Baltimore but Ravens are a top tier organization and he could have learned a lot under Lamar. I get it though. 4 years is a long time to ask someone to wait for their shot and by then you’re probably pegged as a backup and no one will give you a shot as a QB1 when you do become a FA.
I look at folks like Aaron Rogers and Steve Young as great examples of becoming better players for waiting, but it really is rare.
Even Love studying under Rodgers for a few years looks like he is now becoming one of the better QBs in the league.
I think it depends on the player, and if they make the most of the situation. Some guys wait and learn humbly, others bitch and complain about not being a rookie starter.
I agree. Cleveland has better short term potential but Baltimore has better long term potential.
Hard to blame him, given he wants to start. Though he’s also not starting in Cleveland
