An aerial view of the 97-acre site shows multiple attractions starting to take shape
With ticket sales and hotel reservations expected to kick off in a few months, work is entering a critical stretch at the highly anticipated $550 million Universal theme park in Frisco.
Brightly colored buildings, roller coasters and other attractions are beginning to rise, giving locals their first real sense of what the resort will eventually become. At full buildout, Universal Kids Resort is expected to feature a 300-room hotel and a slew of rides, restaurants and shops, all designed around popular movie characters.
Construction on the family-focused attraction began in 2023 with the goal of completing the complex and opening it to the public in 2026. The development team includes general contractor Balfour Beatty, architect Gensler and utility contractor Moss Utilities LLC. Progress can be seen in the slideshow at the top of this story, with aerial photos from early August courtesy of YouTube channel Texney, which has been closely following the development.
The park is located on a 97-acre site at the northeast corner of the Dallas North Tollway and Panther Creek Parkway. While it will be smaller than the Universal resort in Orlando, the Frisco project is still expected to provide a jolt of new jobs and new tourism spending in the city north of Dallas.

My Thoughts 💭

Who knew Frisco, TX was a place to construct a universal studios theme park. Theme parks used to be fun before the prices and the crowds just got out of control. People worry more about the burden of paying and the amount of standing in line they will have to do instead of being excited to go. Maybe children don’t care and in the end that’s all that probably matters but 4K BTC for a theme park resort is a pretty steep investment. I doubt they will never get the full return back if they just purchased bitcoin.
