As far as I know it's similar, because the issue is your brain tries to focus your eyeball to the wrong depth, because apparent depth of field differs from actual.
The further away you sit, the closer to parallel the incoming light is and your eye just goes into its long distance setting.
Wow! Great insight. That means I ain't getting any benefit of watching on a smaller TV from about 20 feet, haha.
