I didn’t realize we had so many alcoholics on sn but it makes sense. What I learned from ek’s post.
You should make the difference between alcoholics and drinkers. Are not the same.
Some people could have a very good liver that works perfectly fine with large amount of alcohol, without damaging their health or behavior.
I personally could drink 15-20 beers and you not even notice it, but somebody else after 2-3 beers is sleeping on the floor and forget who is it.
Is all about if you are capable to stop where is your limit and if you know your limits, especially if you drink in public (with audience). I myself I do not like to drink too much in public. If I am with friends in a bar I always drink barely minimum to not be an asshole that drink water.
Drinking alcohol is not for everybody. And usually alcoholics are mixing all kind of types of alcohol... and that is where they get mad. Big mistake.

fun real story:
I was like 25 years old and I visited for the 1st time my future father-in-law.
He put me at the table and he said: "You will have my daughter if tomorrow morning you are still at this table and me under it..."
So we drink all day and night and I was still sitting on the chair and he was under the table sleeping.
And that is how I get a wife :)
