A couple of weeks ago I bought a PC to run my BTC node.
You don't even need to install Umbrel for that. Just install a BTC node (whatever software you want) and done. Umbrel is just a fancy web UI interface for multiple apps. But for more apps you put, more trouble you will have. Forget all those garbage apps. Install minimum. idk why is pushed this idea that Umbrel is a node...
If you just want a BTC node and eventually a LN node you only need:
  • A Bitcoin node software (Core, btcd, Knots, whatever you like)
  • A LN implementation: LND, CLN, LDK, whatever
  • optional a LN management app like Thunderhub or RTL or not even, you could use Zeus or Bitbanana for that.
Which ones do you consider a must?
NONE
Done. All others are optional. Keep it simple if is just a BTC node. All other apps non-BTC related you could use them in any PC or better with a NAS. A BTC node should be clean as possible from all other garbage.
