I wanted to know what happened if you asked an LLM about this and oh-my do LLMs love to yap about this.
Ask: Give me a link to a human life extended into the digital realm.
Result: I got a whole 7 paragraphs of utter bs and not a single link to an actual extended human life in a computer but everything is of course "intriguing" and "fascinating".
I repeated this on a very small model and it told me:
So imma betcha that some reporter went past the edge of sanity on ChatGPT "deep research". Maybe tomorrow we'll find out there's been another suicide.
