I know of at least 2 sushi restaurants near me who accept no reservations and have lines almost every night... one accepts cash only, been in business since 1979, Hide Sushi

Traffic at Sawtelle is terrible and there is no parking except Hide has a parking lot
I hope the sushi is worth the queue!
I usually go at lunch where lines are short or nonexistent
Dinner is the busy period and I usually go on Sunday night after 7 pm when it's less busy
I go there once or twice a year

I know before covid it was common for clubs or bars to have a line outside even if it was empty inside to make the place look busy and trendy
