I'll admit: humanoid robots have come farther than I thought.
I don't understand the desire to make robots that are humanoids -- Roomba shapes are better at vacuuming than human shapes -- however, it is possible that the human shape lends itself to some generality that makes sense.
I guess I expected the robot revolution to be robotizing all the things around us, but they are making enough progress with the humanoids that I may have to change my mind.
I agree. At first it was all about robots, but it has certainly changed now to humanoids. Watching them function like humans and sometimes even behave in the same way generates more curiosity in us. Roomba robots are far less eye pleasing, and can't be as good at selling as humanoids.
