  • OpenAI will also introduce a new certification program in connection with its “OpenAI Academy.”
  • The certification program could also put it in competition with LinkedIn’s learning platform.

Biting the hand that feeds you? Audacious.

That's the first thought came to my mind. But then I also thought it may be due to the reason that Microsoft knows LinkedIn has started to decline. MS also knows that they gotta innovate before someone else.

I try to err on the side of Elon whenever it comes to Sam Altman, so unless it's a masterplan to pre-IPO diffuse the core business that even outsmarts Elon, and supposedly pre-AGI too... I wonder what's up?
Something is off.

You can be 100% right. Maybe Altman wants to put a leash on MS. Or maybe Microsoft will let Altman integrate AI to LinkedIn.
The title of this post is off too. Microsoft is recovering 75% of all profits from OpenAI and a major partner with $13 Billion invested won't let Altman go against their own products.

That would be audacity-squared!

Let's see how it unfolds. Altman is kinda teenager in business matters and MS is a giant. They should definitely have some back-up plan. But I don't think they'll let him build a competition, but maybe they are thinking to upgrade LinkedIn with AI.

There was a second thought coming to mind: Since MS has started releasing their own models (#1198728, #1205738), maybe Altman is pissed off and in his mind returning the favor?
That too would be a losing proposition though; I remember working with startups in early bitcoin that would be too easily triggered by the competition and because of that were always distracted. Ego kills startups.

Sounds like another monopoly on the making.
