Don't be so stressful about death of an animal. We all love them but this is life, up and down. Do not put that burden on yourself, it will make your life a NIGHTMARE.
We all love animals and even trees. Recently I had to cut a tree for my little house... I had 1h apologizing to that tree. I really felt "guilty" but in the end... this is life.
Death is just a passing through another form, nobody should be afraid or guilty of it. If you finished your task on this world, you are nothing to be afraid of it.
