After completing the first set of third round matches yesterday, we have the lower part of the bracket already set.

Mannarino beat Shelton in 4 sets, after the American retired due to a shoulder injury. He was playing well after completing a comeback in the third set to win it. In the fourth set, he noticed pain in the shoulder and, even though he managed to end the set, he decided to retire.

Alcaraz beat Darderi in 3 sets, though he also had to stop for a few minutes in the second set after complaining of knee pain which required attention from Physio. After the pause, he closed the second set 6-4 and won the third 6-0. Later on, he mentioned it did not bother him though we will see in the next matches.
