The Lightning Network is one of the most exciting and innovative technologies built on Bitcoin, but it’s also one of the most misunderstood. Not everyone will run a Lightning node, and that’s okay. Custodians feels like a compromise, and in a way, it is: Running Lightning infrastructure isn’t meant for everyone.
I found my initial tinkering with running a lightning node a tad confusing and cumbersome. In this instance, for now at least, I'm ok with offloading the management of the small amounts of bitcoin I move around or receive on lightning to the more "professional" operators.
I'm ok with my own full node and cold storage for the full stack that matters.
